Roger Allan Whiting

Roger Allan Whiting, 84, Woodstock, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in his home.

He was born May 4, 1933, to Roger A. and Wanda (Chin) Whiting Sr. in Woodstock.

On Nov. 25, 1965,  he married Yvonne A. Cox in McHenry.

He served in the Army from 1953 to 1956. After the service, he started to work at Union Special in Huntley, where he was employed his entire career.

He loved bowling, gardening, games of all sorts, and especially family pizza parties, where he was the pizza maker. He enjoyed traveling and introduced his family to many adventures from Yellowstone to Mount Rushmore to the Statue of Liberty, as well as the Smithsonian and the beaches of Florida.

Survivors include his children, Lucy (Fred) Krchak, Kathy (Al) Wille, Jan (Dan) Terilkowski, Joseph (Maureen) Whiting, Michele (Jason) Urquhart, Misty Whiting, and Roger Whiting III; grandchildren, Amy, Katie, Courtney, Sarah, Michael, Chad, Haley, Jade, Allison, and Aubin; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne; a sister, Lorraine Russell; and a grandson, Andrew.

His funeral was held April 20 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Interment was in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
