Krystal “Kris” Kay Harrison Roark, age 68, of McHenry, passed away June 20, 2022, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
She was born on April 1, 1954, in Woodstock, the daughter of Clarence and Marian (Freeman) Harrison. She married Hunter Roark Jr. on Sept. 23, 2000.
Kris was one of a kind; she was so generous and accepting of everyone. She had such a bubbly personality that made everyone instantly fall in love with and connect with her. Her sense of humor was unmatched. She could find the humor in any situation. She absolutely loved talking about and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She would take them on adventures and wasn’t afraid to play any silly game they wanted to play. She even let them get her hair all messy while playing “hair salon.”
She was so proud of her family history. We all loved hearing stories about her and her brothers growing up on “The Harrison Farm.”
She was a huge animal lover. She loved snuggling up with her kitties.
Her hobbies included yoga, spending time with her friends and family, and spending time at her favorite place, Starbucks! She was a regular there; all the baristas knew her and would have her favorite drink waiting for her when she walked in. Her favorite hobby from this past year was traveling with Hunter. The wonderful vacation they took and memories they made are priceless. Kris and Hunter spent more than 22 amazing years together!
We all love and miss you more than words can say.
Kris is survived by her loving husband, Hunter; children, Megan (Scott) Beam and Daniel Courier; grandchildren, Emma, Declyn, and Piper; brothers, Donald (Judy) Harrison and Gary (Diana) Harrison; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Janice) Harrison, Lisa (Steve Ding) Harrison, Katie Harrison, Sarah (Thomas) Garner, Michael (Leah) Harrison; former husband, Randall (Randy) Courier-Romero; sister-in-law, Audrey Harrison; and many cousins and friends.
