Diane M. Baker-Lockwood, 79

Diane M. Baker-Lockwood, of Woodstock, left this world far too soon on Monday, February 17, 2025, at JourneyCare hospice facility in Barrington, IL. She was 79.

Diane lived a life overflowing with an unwavering commitment to her husband, family, friends, and the countless people who were lucky enough to know her. Her true legacy lies in how she treated people. Her presence was magnetic and her kindness immeasurable. Diane was known for: a radiant smile that lit up any room she entered; her love for animals (cats like Casey, Niki, ThreeSpots, Cali, and Lucy all having a special place in her heart); the legendary spritz cookies she baked with love each Christmas with her mother or niece; and – just like the cookies – her genuine sweetness.

Before fibromyalgia nudged her out of the workforce, Diane enjoyed the clerical work she did in Rockford and Orlando (FL). In later years, Diane was justifiably proud she was able to start a fibromyalgia support group in Woodstock.

Diane loved working on jigsaw puzzles, reading cozy mysteries, attending smooth jazz and oldies concerts (e.g., Dave Koz, Frankie Valli), and going to live theater productions.

Proud of being an early – and young – member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club, Diane never made it to Graceland, but she did have memorable trips to Ontario, London, Cancun, Washington State, and more.

Survivors include: her husband of 38+ years, Paul Lockwood of Woodstock; her sister, Jan (Ken) Lindenmier of Loves Park; nieces Deb McNally of Loves Park and Pam (Craig) Connell of Clark, Wyoming; and grandniece Amanda McNally of Rockford.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Eloise Baker.

Her family would like to thank Home Instead caregivers and all who have helped give her comfort and care.
