Arthur Gordon Marugg, 93, Woodstock, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at his home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Forest Park to Oscar and Josephine (Dewar) Marugg.
On April 28, 1950, he married Rovena Moody.
He served in the 12th Armored Division of the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. He was a member of the American Legion in Belvidere. He loved working in his garden and shared his knowledge with anyone.
Survivors include two sons, Gregg Marugg and Ralph Marugg; a brother, Richard (Wilma) Marugg; a sister, Teen Ehlers; and 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, on July 19, 2012; and a daughter, Debra Estrada.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
