Larry F. ‘Piet’ Pietrzak, 81

Larry F. “Piet” Pietrzak, age 81, passed away Jan. 5, 2022, in Wonder Lake with his family by his side.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1940, in Chicago, the son of Francis and Julie (Mirocha) Pietrzak. He married Virginia Evans on Dec. 26, 1965.

Larry worked in the electrical motor industry for many years in the Chicagoland area, including WW Grainger and Molon Motors in Arlington Heights.

Larry loved playing golf and was the general manager for Chapel Hill Golf Course in Johnsburg for many years as well as a ranger and starter at Blackstone Golf Course in Marengo. He enjoyed boating on Wonder Lake and loved being with his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his sons, Christopher L. Pietrzak, Michael J. Pietrzak, and David W. (Melissa) Pietrzak; two grandchildren, Larissa Anne Pietrzak and Lynsie Marie Pietrzak; a brother, Jack; and sister, Barbara Sczybowicz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents; and a daughter-in-law, Lorelee Pietrzak.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
