Joyce M. Haapoja

Joyce M. Haapoja, 73, Twin Lakes, Wis., died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock.

She was born July 29, 1936, in Chicago, to John and Helen (Giles) Kline. She married Arnold Haapoja.

She owned and operated the Flying Flinn Bar and Grill in Hurley, Wis. She enjoyed bingo and reading, and she loved animals.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Juan) Garduno and Denise Ackerman; two sons, Joseph (Stacy) Kotyza and Steven (Vanessa Evertt) Kotyza; and three grandchildren, Riley Kotyza, Robert Ackerman and Daryl Ackerman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Robert and Mark Kotyza; and a sister, Joanne Bruce.

Visitation and funeral were Jan. 26 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.

Interment was in Christ the King Cemetery, Wonder Lake.

Memorials can be made to the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.
